My mind is a swirling cloud of emotion, memory, music, and language. Sometimes it feels like a symphony (mostly when I'm painting or making music), but more often than not, it's a cacophony. This painting explores that feeling, of being lost in a mind of sound, not sure you want to get out. It mixes layers of acrylic, gouache, oil stick, and oil pastels.

SYMPHONY
just four movements will not do
i need
multitudes of sound
more like a cacophony
swirling seas in my head
of musical notes
not numbers (of course)
the eddies of time
churning in the deep
like discordant lullabies
spiraling out into the current
basically,
i’ve been thinking too much

Oil pastel, sprayed with fixative, but will still smudge (will be shipped wrapped in glassine)
